Colts combined 5-0 record to start Season!

(Updated March 7, 2020)

Our season couldn't have started any better! After five games, we are undefeated.

Colts Black led off with a dominating 18-0 win over the Mustangs, led by a fast offense, and a shut down defense.

Colts Blue followed up with a close game against a very tough Warriors team that had gone 6-2 the previous year.  While the Colts led most of the way, a TD on the last play sealed the victory 19-12.

Colts White then over-powered a feisty Broncos team that was "playing up" with a 31-0 win.

The weekend ended with Black playing their second game, a close affair against a really good Renegade team that was much closer then the final 24-13 score would indicate.

Blue finished out the second week with a HARD FOUGHT come from behind win over a very stiff Dragons team. While we lead early, by halftime we were down 14-26... but in the second half, the boys got focused, shut down the Dragons, and outscrored them 19-2 to finish with a 33-28 win.  Watch the film on Hudl!

Being a COLT player

(March 6, 2020)

The goal of being a Plano Colt football player should be first and formost "Have fun playing football"... and for coaches it should always be our goal to make that happen for our boys every time we suit them up... flag, tackle, or just shorts and tees for conditioning drills... we need to make sure the kids have a good time and learn in a fun environment.

Deeper than that however is a set of life lessons that we hope will "make life more fun too".

The game of football teaches us so much... overcoming adversity, being prepared, working within a system, giving just a little more than you think you can give, and learning to be a dependable team mate focused on a common goal.

When I am recruiting my coaches, I don't just look for men who know the game of football, but also for two other important characteristics:  1) the ability to treansfer that knowledge to young boys (not teens, or other men, but young, impressionable kids still trying to figure it all out.).  2) strong leadership qualities... that can be modeled in a Godly way for these young boys to see. (1Corinthians 16: 13-14 "Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.  Let all that you do be done in love."

Football is a great teaching tool, and a great game--- i hope your son finds being a Plano Colt makes a positive difference in his life, long after he hangs up his cleats.
